Everton earned the infamous title of being the side to hand Luton Town their first ever Premier league win on Saturday.
Two first-half goals from captain Tom Lockyer and striker Carlton Morris saw the Hatters earn an early 2-0 lead. Despite the Blues’ recent home form, it was a shock to the system for Sean Dyche’s side, who had recorded two wins in five days, prior to the weekend.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored for the third match in a row, shortly before the break, to give the sense that a comeback was on, but the scoreline remained the same as the second half fell flat. It was a dismal result on the day that Josh Wander and other figures from prospective owners 777 Partners were in attendance for the first time.
