Eden Hazard discarded Tottenham's ambitions of becoming Premier League champions as the Chelsea legend laughed at suggestions they are better than his former club.
Tottenham are much improved under Ange Postecoglou's guidance this season, currently sitting fifth in the Premier League and only two-points adrift of the top four.
A strong start to the season under the Australian's debut managerial campaign in the English top-flight led to many labelling them as title contenders before they dropped away from Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have failed to make good on their £1billion recruitment investment that has been splashed on new talents over the last 18 months and are 10th in the Premier League standings.
Mauricio Pochettino has struggled to find solutions to Chelsea's poor form this season, but has shown progress is being made in recent weeks, highlighted by Saturday's 1-1 draw with Man City.
Hazard won two Premier League titles during his trophy-laden spell at Chelsea and scored six goals in 17 games against Spurs.
However, despite their differing league positions, Hazard joked Spurs aren't better than Chelsea and said his former club's rivals won't win the league in the foreseeable future.
Speaking on former team-mate John Obi Mikel's Obi One Podcast, Hazard said: 'The Premier League is so hard and you see now Man City they are better than Chelsea, you see Liverpool they are better than Chelsea.
Mikel interrupted by suggesting: 'Tottenham?' but Hazard was quick to reply adding: 'No, no, Tottenham, no,' while laughing out loud.
Mikel continued to try and give Spurs credit for their performances, continuing: 'But right now they are playing a bit better, they are like third or fourth in the league.
