Gareth Southgate has named his squad for the friendlies against Brazil and Belgium later this month - and in so doing has dropped various Euro 2024 hints.
With the Wembley double-header being the last chance to impress the England manager before he names his squad for Germany, those included will be feeling buoyant.
But those dropped or missing will see their Euro chances fading with just three months until the tournament.
We assess some of the winners and losers from the latest England squad selection.
WINNERS
Ivan Toney - The Brentford man's recall means his betting ban won't be held against him. Toney has netted four times since making his return on January 20 and has the chance to cement his status as first reserve to Harry Kane ahead of Ollie Watkins and others.
Jordan Henderson - The man Southgate just can't bring himself to drop, wherever he's playing. Now closer to home with Ajax after calling off his Saudi sojourn at Al-Ettifaq, 33-year-old Henderson gets in despite his club's ropey form. Bodes well for one last tournament call-up.
Jarrad Branthwaite - 'He's in on merit. We're looking forward to having a look at him.' Those were Southgate's words about the Everton man and his call-up shows there is not only a pathway from the under-21 side but that solid consistency of performance will get you an audition. You'd back him to make a late dart for the Euro squad.
Joe Gomez - Glorious vindication for the utility man! Gomez has played right across the back line and also in midfield for Liverpool and Southgate will appreciate such a Swiss army knife player. Enjoying a fine season and, perhaps most importantly, comes from a winning dressing room into the England fold again.
Anthony Gordon - Maybe Gordon was right to resist
