Everton have won the first Merseyside derby of the WSL season.
The only goal of the game came from captain Megan Finnigan, with the Blues getting yet another victory at Anfield after last season's 3-0 victory.
A solid performance from Everton gave them the win after the Reds dominated the opening 10 minutes of the game before the spark ignited for a fiesty Merseyside derby.
Here are Laura Hartley's Everton player ratings from Anfield:
Courtney Brosnan 7
Solid as you'd expect for the Ireland international. Dealt with the Reds' chances well, reading the balls coming at her while staying calm. Exactly what you need from the Everton number one.
Nathalie Bjorn 7
Quietly composed for the Blues, nothing outstanding but kept that solid figure Everton needed on that back line with Finnigan.
Megan Finnigan (C) 8
Goalscorer for Everton to take the lead in the derby just after the half hour mark. Adapting to her role as captain like she's made for it. She held the back line very well as the Reds continued to press.
Katrine Veje 7
Good defending just 10 minutes from the end of the first half to keep the Reds out from an equaliser. A strong body to keep out the Reds before being subbed off..
Lucy Hope N/A
Subbed off early in the first couple of minutes after injury.
Heather Payne 8
A great game from Payne who had the job of trying to stop Liverpool's Taylor Hinds and was a strong figure in midfield creating space and making the runs. Lively performance.
Aurora Galli 7
Solid in midfield for the Blues, winning the ball off Hinds on the hour mark was a notable moment as it was much to the distain of Matt Beard who thought the Reds deserved something for it. Came into the game more in the second half seeking out Sorensen on the wing.
