The game was overshadowed by a "serious human error" from VAR officials Darren England and Dan Cook which saw Luis Diaz's opener ruled out for the Reds. The Colombian had broke in behind the hosts defence slotting past Vicario but the assistant referee raised his flag immediately.
The incident was checked by VAR, although he appeared to be onside, the on-field decision stood. It became clear that there had been a mistake from the Video Assistant Referee's in Stockley Park and as a result, VAR audio was released for the first time following the uproar - including a replay remark from Klopp.
