Wataru Endo has opened up on his difficult start to life at Liverpool - insisting the tempo, physicality and speed of the Premier League has made his transition to the English game "tough".
The Japan international made a surprise summer move to Anfield from Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart just days after the Reds missed out on a British record deal for Moises Caicedo.
Since sealing his £16 million switch, the 30-year-old has started just one Premier League game for the Reds and has largely been consigned to Europa League and Carabao Cup duty.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Endo opened up on the difficulties he's faced in adapting to the demands of the Premier League, citing his difficult full debut at Newcastle United back in August.

“Everything’s different: physical, technique, speed," said the midfielder. “It’s the Premier League. Of course, I don’t play a lot of games in the Premier League but when I played against Newcastle, it was a very tough game for me. It’s a lot of speed, everything is different.”
Reflecting on his summer switch to Anfield, Endo, who never played in any form of European competition during his four seasons with Stuttgart, admitted he was surprised to be notified of the Reds' interest but insists he never gave up hope of securing a move to a top side.
