The question every Spurs fan is asking — will James Maddison be available?
You polled them all? Every Spurs supporter?
I think it's fair to say they'd all like him back...
Nah, fair point. Team news, everyone’s ok from the last game. Deki’s recovered from his illness. The boys had four days off last week, which was good for them. Post-that, Madders has been training with us, he’s had a full training week. He’s in a good place. Ben [Davies] and Dane Scarlett have just started back with the group as well. So we’re getting the numbers back up. I think the ones who are definitely still out are Gio, Manor and Alejo — they’re the ones still away from the group.
The last 12 days first chance to come up for air after relentless period, how beneficial has it been?
Yeah I think they have been. We had a couple of different options how we treated the kind of break we had. I just felt that, because fair to say there's been a fair bit going on and a fair few challenges to overcome, I just felt that for the players and staff to have four days away would benefit us more than having a mini camp. I think it has been [beneficial].
Not that there was anything bad before but just the body language of the lads, they’ve come back refreshed. We’ve had a really good training week. It helps when the numbers are up. It’s just that bit more intense, there’s that bit more quality, which helps the whole group. I think it has been beneficial but we have three games coming up which will test our preparations.
