A former Italian footballer was reportedly shot dead by two brothers in a nightclub bathroom on Wednesday night.
Rosolino 'Lino' Celesia, 22, was pronounced dead at a hospital in Palermo after taking three shots to the neck and chest.
According to local Italian outlet L'Unione Sarde, tensions had been rising between Celesia and the brothers for some time, and they were involved in a brawl a month ago.
After studying CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses, the Palermo Prosecutor's Office ordered the arrest of the two brothers, who are aged 17 and 22.
The younger brother, who is still considered a minor in Italy, is accused of murder, while the older brother is alleged to have had illegal possession of a firearm.
Celesia began his football career in Trapani and Torino's academy before returning to his hometown of Palermo.
He went on to play for lower league teams Marsala, Troina and Parmonval before retiring.
A vigil was held in his honour on Thursday night in Palermo, while his ex-club Torino paid tribute to their former player with a heartfelt statement.
The statement read: 'President Urbano Cairo and the entire Torino Football Club deeply share the pain of the Celesia family for the passing of Rosolino Celesia, a former youth player in the Granata (Torino) youth sector.
'To his loved ones, all relatives, and the numerous friends, the condolences and embrace of the Granata world.'
