FA respond to Luton Town tragedy chanting aimed at Liverpool
The Football Association have contacted Luton Town for their "observations" after Liverpool supporters were subjected to tragedy chanting in Sunday's 1-1 draw.
After Tahith Chong had scored a second-half goal for the hosts, substitute Luis Diaz rescued a point for the Reds with a 95th-minute header but the game was marred by early chanting from the home ends that relate to the Hillsborough disaster of 1989.
Luton have yet to publicly acknowledge the terrace chants from their supporters as of Monday afternoon but the FA have addressed the situation with the club to seek clarification on the matter.

And the governing body say they will continue to work closely with the relevant organisations in an effort to stamp out such harmful chanting across English football.
The statement read: "We are aware of the tragedy chanting during yesterday's Premier League fixture between Luton Town and Liverpool, and we are seeking observations from Luton Town and further details from the Police.
"We strongly condemn chanting of this nature and will continue to work closely with our stakeholders across the game, including the clubs, leagues, fan groups and the relevant authorities to proactively address this issue."
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, who was providing co-commentary for the game on Sunday afternoon, immediately challenged the chanting from the Hatters' fans during the broadcast while Jurgen Klopp later branded those singing 'always the victims' as shameful.
