A family-owned business is hoping to win big in the British Pie Awards for the second year running.
Farmhouse Kitchen, Southport, is the little gem delivering to big tastes and appealing to critics all over the country. Last year the business won the bronze award for the 'best steak and ale' but hopes this year a new addition will land them the gold.
Owner Rob Marshal told the ECHO: "Last year was our first year, we’ve learnt a few lessons and we’ve been prepping our entries.

"We hope to achieve gold for at least one of our entries this year. Bronze was such a shock last year, we didn’t think we would be so lucky. Our customers are amazing and so supportive."
The new creations include a dauphinoise potato pie to win the 'posh spud' award, a steak and stilton pie for the 'stinking cow' award, and an entry with a lot of heart, the nanny Betty hot pie, in memory of Rob's grandmother Betty.
Rob runs the business with his mum, Terri, and together built the much-loved artisan bakery at the heart of Southport's community. British Pie Week is from March 4 - 10. The British Pie Awards is at the centre of the week with judging on March 6 and the Awards Lunch on March 10.
