Fans complain about 'horrible' kit clash in tie between Chelsea & Leicester

Fans were left frustrated as the FA Cup tie between Chelsea and Leicester involved a 'horrible' kit clash.

Hosts Chelsea wore their usual blue colours, while the Foxes sported their away black kit which includes a big sky blue stripe at the front.

The TV coverage meant that it was not easy for some armchair viewers to identify which players were which side, which led many fans to take to social media to comment on the kit clash.

It caused particular issues for some fans, with one saying on X: 'what kind of kit clash is this? I can barely tell them apart'.

Another asked: 'Just me or is this a bit of a kit clash?' While a third insisted: 'One of these teams needs to change kit, horrible colour clash'.

Another went as far as saying: 'This is the worst kit clash I’ve seen in a while… '

The Premier League has faced criticism for overlooking similar kit clashes in the past.

Earlier this season, Manchester United wore a white kit when playing away at Liverpool, with their initial green alternative kit causing significant issues for certain viewers.

According to the National Eye Institute, one in twelve men and one in two hundred women are affected by colour blindness.

Marc Cucurella gave Chelsea the lead against Leicester after 13 minutes before Raheem Sterling saw a penalty saved.
