Tottenham fans are furious at the club's decision to scrap senior season tickets from 2025, labelling the new policy 'atrocious'.
Spurs confirmed on Wednesday that concessions for OAPs would only apply to matchday tickets from the 2025-26 campaign, 'reluctantly' removing senior season ticket discounts for sustainability reasons.
The north London outfit also announced that there would be a six per cent hike on season tickets from 2024-25, prompting fans to accuse the club of 'theft' on social media amid the current cost of living crisis.
Tottenham's season tickets under the current pricing model are among the most expensive in the Premier League. They range from £803 per annum for the cheapest adult seating available to £2,233 for the most expensive season ticket.
Blasting the club's decision to scrap OAP discounts, the Football Supporters' Association wrote on X: 'This is Spurs' new policy for OAP ST holders: The older you get the more you pay! Unless eligible by 2024-25, you'll never get an OAP ST discount. Ever. Doesn't matter if you live til 100. Spurs are the 8th richest club in the world.'
Douglas Bagley, a long-serving Tottenham supporter, said: 'So my understanding is that, having had a Season Ticket every season since 1982 and now being in my early 60s, my loyalty is being rewarded by never being able to buy a Senior Citizen discounted Season Ticket. Thank you so much Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.'
Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust also shared a series of fan reactions to social media on Wednesday, captioned: 'Absolutely heartbreaking'.
One read: 'I can barely afford it now, on a pension without concession will be impossible.'
Another wrote: 'Thank you so much. With my mum gone Spurs is even more important to me.
