Manchester City right-back Yan Couto has admitted he would be open to a long-term spell in Spain amid uncertainty about his future at the Etihad Stadium.
City swooped for the 21-year-old in March 2020, officially signing him on a five-year deal in July the same year. However, he has been sent out on loan on four separate occasions, so far failing to make a single appearance for the Blues.
Couto, who is a Brazilian international, returned to City's sister club, Girona, for a third loan spell in the summer. He previously spent time at the Spanish club in 2020/21 and 2022/23, either side of a stint at Portuguese club Braga.

He has played his part in helping them rise from the second tier of Spanish football to, as things currently stand, the top of La Liga.
"Obviously I have hopes and I think about my future," Couto told Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo.
"I want to be at the highest level and I am very happy to be at Girona, but I also want to play in the Champions League, I don't know if here or at Manchester City, although I love Spain. I see myself playing more in La Liga, but we have to see what options we can consider for next year (season)."
With the right-back setting his sights on playing in the Champions League for the first time, he could secure that ambition with Girona. Against all odds, they are currently top of the La Liga
