Liverpool chairman Tom Werner saluted a "terrific day" after watching the Reds add to their trophy collection under the ownership of Fenway Sports Group.
Werner was in attendance at Wembley on Sunday when an injury-ravaged side overcame the odds to beat Chelsea 1-0 with a Virgil van Dijk header two minutes from the end of extra time.
It is the ninth trophy won by Liverpool since FSG took control of the club in October 2010, eight of which have been under the tutelage of boss Jurgen Klopp, who will depart in the summer after almost nine years in charge.

Liverpool will hope it is the first leg of a possible quadruple this season, with the Reds into the last 16 of the FA Cup and Europa League and a point clear at the top of the Premier League table.
And speaking after the game, Werner was delighted with the manner in which Klopp's side scrapped to their latest success.
“We’re enjoying today,” he said. And talking to talkSPORT, the Liverpool chairman added: “Just the resilience, the commitment in all of those players who wouldn’t normally be in the first-team.
“And how about (Caoimhin) Kelleher? Brilliant. Of course (I’m proud). And with the injuries that this club has had, they are fighting and it has been a terrific day.”
