Arsenal talisman Gabriel Jesus could be set for surgery at the end of season — admitting it's been too long since he's played 'pain-free'. The Brazilian hasn't exactly stayed injury free this season, struggling with his knee and hamstring.
But even as the club pushes forward with its Premier League andChampions League campaigns, Jesus remains committed to finishing out the season. He's recently returned to action, just in time for Mikel Arteta's Gunners as they face off against Bayern Munich in their crunch European clash. But the sad truth for Brazilian fans is that Jesus may have to skip representing his country at Copa America due to surgery.
Jesus confessed to suffering from chronic pain since an injury sustained during a World Cup game. He expressed his fears in an interview with TNT Sports Brazil: «In my best moment, one of my best moments in my career, I went to a World Cup and ended up getting injured and today I still have these little problems with my knee,» he said via the Express.
«Today I have a different mindset, today I think I have to look after myself a lot too, take care of myself, because if I'm 100 per cent I'll help and if I'm not, I won't help. So, obviously, I always want to be available for the national team and we want to be called up, we want to be there. Obviously, I want to play in another Copa America, I want to win, I want to conquer, I don't know, we'll see.
