Erling Haaland suffered an injury scare on international duty with Norway - just nine days before Manchester City host Liverpool.
The striker twisted his ankle after coming on in a 2-0 friendly win over the Faroe Islands, although he carried on until the end.
It is his second ankle issue this month after he came off at half-time in the 6-1 demolition job of Bournemouth on November 4.
He told Pep Guardiola that the initial pain had subsided 24 hours after that incident but looked in considerable pain again against the Faroe Islands.
Norway team doctor Ola Sand told TV2: 'It was much of the same that happened against Bournemouth a week-and-a-half ago. He has had it before too.
'He gets a slight twist in his ankle, where he is a bit vulnerable. It hurts a lot right away, and then it goes away pretty quickly. Then we'll see tomorrow how he is then.
'Now he will receive some treatment, then there will be peace and rest and then we will see how he is tomorrow morning.
The national side has already been in touch with City and Haaland was monitored by the club's sports therapist, Mario Pafundi, who usually travels with him on international duty.
Norway have a trip to Scotland on Sunday in their final Euro qualifier but it is a dead rubber as they cannot catch Spain or Scotland in the group.
City will hope to have Haaland back for the top-of-the-table clash against Liverpool because he has been in blistering form again this season.
He has 17 goals in 18 games this campaign and has scored two in five career face-offs against the Reds.
The Premier League champions top the table but sit just a point ahead of Liverpool, their nearest rivals at the moment.
