Harry Kane has revealed that he sees some similarities between Bayern Munich's form this season and when Tottenham reached the Champions League final back in 2019. Making the move from north London to the Allianz Arena last August, the 30-year-old was expected to end his trophy drought by helping Bayern to the Bundesliga title this season.
That looks extremely unlikely to happen now, though, with Bayer Leverkusen holding a 16-point advantage and needing just one win to seal the Bundesliga title. Bayern's most realistic chance of finishing the term with some silverware in the trophy cabinet is by winning the Champions League final at Wembley in May.
In the season Tottenham progressed all the way to the final of Europe's premier competition, the Lilywhites' form in the final few months of the campaign was extremely up and down and it wasn't until the final day when they wrapped up a top-four finish. Speaking following Bayern's 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening, the England captain has admitted that he sees the similarities between Bayern and Tottenham's seasons and it is something that gives him hope as he looks to get his hands on Europe's top prize.
«That campaign itself is similar because we weren't having a great time in the league if I'm totally honest that year, but we found some passion and togetherness in the Champions League and we managed to get to the final and of course we didn't manage to win it but that gives me hope,» explained Kane.
