Harry Kane has criticised the referee in Arsenal's match against Bayern Munich, calling out a «childish mistake» over a penalty controversy. The former Spurs striker was left astounded when Champions League referee Glenn Nyberg failed to award what he described as «the clearest penalty he has ever seen».
The incident occurred when Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes picked up the ball in the penalty area following a free-kick taken by goalkeeper David Raya, who had acted on the sound of the referee's whistle.
Gabriel then relocated the ball to a different spot within the six-yard box and retook the kick, passing it sideways to Raya. This sparked outrage from Bayern's players and bench who protested to the officials.
Kane, who narrowly avoided a red card after elbowing Gabriel, is convinced that Bayern were wronged.
«We should have gotten a crystal-clear penalty,» he said. «The referee blows his whistle, the goalkeeper passes to Gabriel and he just takes the ball in his hands. That's crazy. That's a silly, childish mistake, but that's what it is — clearest penalty I've ever seen.», reports the Mirror.
Bayern's Joshua Kimmich echoed Kane's sentiments. He added: «In the end, it was decisive and bitter that we didn't get it. For me, it was a clear penalty.»

«I felt like a lot of little decisions went against us,» said the ex-Chelsea boss. «The referee made a huge mistake in not giving a penalty.
