From one former Liverpool striker to another, Peter Crouch agreed that Luis Suarez was one of two most technically gifted players in the Premier League era.
Both had fleeting three-year spells with Liverpool, both impactful in their own way. The towering six foot seven inch frame of Crouch helped the Reds to four finals, winning the FA Cup and Community Shield while losing the Champions League and Club World Cup. Along the way he scored 42 goals and made 23 assists before joining Portsmouth and generally becoming a cult hero of English football.
Suarez meanwhile was one of the greatest to ever take to the Anfield turf, only winning the League Cup during his time at the club but in 2013/14 equalled the record for the number of goals in a 38-game Premier League season, having missed the first five matches due to suspension. His final Liverpool total was 82 goals and 46 assists in 133 matches.

Responding to a series of 'hot takes' - supposedly outrageous opinions - put forward by supporters to TNT Sports, Crouch gave his verdict on his club alumni in a trio of categories:
'Thierry Henry has only one competitor when it comes to most gifted Premier League striker of all time'
To the above statement Crouch responded: "Yes, I mean Luis Suarez could do things that no one else could do.
"I remember Rio [Ferdinand] telling me he used to dribble at you rather than around you, sometimes react off the ball, touch it off a defender and go past them. No one else could do that. One of the most gifted, I'd say so."
