After a three-week break, we’re looking forward to seeing Everton in action again but there needs to be some changes from both players and fans alike.
When you look at our last 10 fixtures, they appear favourable with some winnable games in there. We start with two more away games at Bournemouth and Newcastle United but Goodison Park against supposedly favourable sides has proven to be our Kryptonite this season.
Sean Dyche and the players seem to struggle in getting the results that we need and the fans expect. I’ve got high expectations of what I demand from players but – home or away – what they don’t need right now is the moans and groans.
I’ve done that myself in frustration but at the end of the day, you don’t see a player react and get better from that situation. Goodison is my home, I love it, it’s where I built my dreams but it’s been very subdued lately.

I can see that there’s more in this team but the players aren’t trying to miss on purpose, they’re not making a mistake or giving the ball away on purpose. Can they try harder? Yes. Can they do better? Yes. But getting on their backs is not going to help us.
We’ve had three years of this now and like a lot of fans, I’m mentally drained by it all, turning up and trying to get the players to hit the levels we expect of them. We all hoped that this season was going to be more-relaxed and enjoyable without the worry of relegation.
