Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Mohamed Salah is back in contention to return to action from his hamstring injury for Saturday's Premier League trip to Brentford.
Salah, 31, sustained the problem while playing for Egypt in the African Cup of Nations. He returned to the AXA Training Centre last month to recover from the problem and is now closing in on a comeback.
The forward, who has netted 14 goals in 20 Premier League appearances, was back in training for the first time this week, here the Liverpool Echo takes a look at whether Salah will be available for selection to Saturday's lunchtime trip to Brentford.

Ahead of the trip to the Gtech Community Stadium, Klopp provided an encouraging update on Salah's chances of featuring. "Mo is back in full training, [so] that brings him automatically in contention of course," he said.
The positive update comes after Klopp insisted his return would be "next week or the week after" prior to the 3-1 win over Burnley. “Right direction. We hope, but we don’t know, we hope that he can be part of parts of training next week," he added.
"But we have to see, he is going through all the phases now and it’s positive. It’s either next week or the week after.”
The official Premier League Fantasy Football site has Salah as available for Liverpool, with no indication of any doubt over his fitness. In fact, over 87,000 managers have transferred him in for gameweek 25.
