Jamie Carragher believes Jurgen Klopp got his tone wrong when criticising Liverpool supporters for the atmosphere inside Anfield being below-par during Wednesday's Carabao Cup win over West Ham United.
The Reds' boss delivered the comments when speaking after the full-time whistle, demanding those who would not be in the "right shape" for Saturday's clash with Arsenal to hand their ticket to somebody else. Klopp's words have left the fanbase divided over whether there was truth to his statement over a lack of noise, though fans have unanimously agreed decibel levels are likely to be raised for tomorrow's top-of-the-table clash.
Offering his view on the situation, Carragher has stressed Klopp only needs to check the Reds' home record to recognise the impact of those inside the ground.

"I get where Klopp is coming from in wanting to ensure the noise level matches what (Mikel) Arteta, as much as the Liverpool manager, expects. Klopp certainly guaranteed it would happen with his comments after the West Ham game, although I am not sure his tone was right," wrote the ex-Liverpool defender in his Telegraph column.
"You only have to look at Klopp’s home record since he took over and compare it to what happened in lockdown to see the difference the supporters make.
"Liverpool lost six home games in a row behind closed doors. With fans, they have lost once at Anfield since 2017. Klopp has used that weapon to his advantage better than any Liverpool manager in the past 33 years."
