Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool were unfortunate not to win against Arsenal on Saturday evening. Gabriel’s early header was cancelled out by a brilliant goal by Mohamed Salah, with the game eventually finishing 1-1.
The Reds did have a number of chances to win the game, however, including a Trent Alexander-Arnold shot which hit the crossbar. Speaking after the match, Klopp insisted his side did enough to come away with a win.
“It was two top teams, that's what I saw," the Liverpool boss said, via Liverpool Echo. «What does that say about Man City, Tottenham, Aston Villa? Nothing. They are top teams as well, just with fewer points.
»I just saw two really good football teams, a really good game, super-intense, top, top top moments for us, could have won, maybe should have won. All the news I have so far I forgot completely Trent’s crossbar [chance], with that chance we should have won the game.
«Besides that, they had the better start, we came back into the game, the atmosphere was outstanding, it was brutal and really nice to see what we can do all together.
»The reaction to the 1-0 was fantastic, we were super-intense, nearly too intense, we tried massively to influence from our side and had to calm down in moments and mix it up a bit better and so we did, created really good moments.
