Al-Ettifaq have reportedly made an approach to Everton over a deal for Abdoulaye Doucoure.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi Pro League side, who are managed by Steven Gerrard, have identified the Blues midfielder as one of their top targets to replace Jordan Henderson.
The former Liverpool captain left Al-Ettifaq, who finished seventh last term and currently sit eighth in the table, 28 points behind leaders Al-Hilal, earlier this week after the club agreed to terminate his contract. Henderson has since joined Ajax.
Doucoure, meanwhile, has been a revelation since the arrival of Sean Dyche last year, after finding himself frozen out by Frank Lampard towards the end of his Goodison Park tenure.

The midfielder’s impressive performances were rewarded in November when he signed a new contract to extend his stay with the Blues until the end of June 2025. His previous deal was set to expire at the end of this season.
Asked if he was enjoying life in the Premier League in November, the Mali international replied: “It has been a long time, it has been almost eight years now.
“When I came to England, my wish was to stay like 10 years in the Premier League and I am almost there. I am very happy; I have grown up, and I am a man now. Very happy.
