Jurgen Klopp has been handed a number of new injury headaches ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Luton Town on Wednesday.
The Reds ran out 4-1 winners away at Brentford on Saturday thanks to goals from Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister, Mohamed Salah, and Cody Gakpo. However, they lost both Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota to injury in the first half, with their Uruguayan striker also withdrawn at half-time as a precaution.
Liverpool had already been dealt a blow ahead of their latest trip to the capital after Alisson Becker injured his hamstring in training at the AXA Training Centre on Friday. With the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Thiago Alcantara sidelined, and already ruled out of the Reds’ clash with the Hatters as a result, Klopp’s squad is looking rather depleted.

Defensive rotation
Caoimhin Kelleher is set to continue in goal in place of the injured Alisson, while Virgil van Dijk will captain the side. With Ibrahima Konate rarely tasked with playing three times in a week due to a chequered injury past, Klopp could bring in Jarell Quansah and hold the Frenchman back for the League Cup final.
Likewise, Joe Gomez could come into the starting XI if Klopp wished to rotate and is an option across the back four. More likely to start at full-back, he could replace either Conor Bradley or Andy Robertson, with Kostas Tsimikas also an option to come in at
