Jurgen Klopp is dominating the news agenda on Friday after announcing that he is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. Klopp has been on Merseyside for the past nine years and won everything there is to win while the Reds head coach.
He has confirmed his decision to step down, citing that he is «running out of energy» as one of the reasons behind his decision. Who replaces him at the Anfield helm will be a basis for plenty of speculation in the coming weeks and months, with bookmakers already making Reds legend Xabi Alonso the early favourite.
Amongst the other names in the frame early on are Steven Gerrard, Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, Julian Nagelsmann and even Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou.
While there will be plenty of interest in who FSG and Liverpool appoint, there will also be a huge amount of interest in what Klopp does next. If he is running out of energy a national role could be up his street, with many talking up the possibility of him becoming Germany coach in the future.
What is for certain is that any big job that becomes available from now on, Klopp will be linked with the vacant post. Not that that is a concern for the man himself, however.
Klopp has held his press conference today ahead of the game with Norwich this weekend and it was dominated by talk of him stepping down. And he was asked about his future.
