Mikel Arteta and Arsenal will almost be at full strength for their Champions League second-leg tie against Porto on Tuesday as they look to overturn a 1-0 aggregate deficit. The Gunners lost away in Portugal two weeks ago but have continued their impressive domestic form either side of the match.
After beating Brentford 2-1 on Saturday there is now just one point between the top three and Arsenal are at the summit on goal difference following a succession of enormous wins. They will be aiming to take that momentum with them at the Emirates Stadium as Porto look to cause the biggest upset in the competition so far.
Luckily for Arteta, his hand has been strengthened in recent weeks. Seven days ago he welcomed back Thomas Partey, Fabio Vieira, and Gabriel Jesus to the pitch after lay-offs for each of them in 2024.
The trio were all second-half substitutes against Sheffield United but Partey and Jesus were both turned to in much more trying times on Saturday with the Bees putting up a fight. Oleksandr Zinchenko also played for the first time since January after another injury setback of his own had halted progress.
All of this group are expected to be involved against Porto, though there are doubts over three players still.
