According to Foot Mercato , Manchester City have agreed personal terms with West Ham’s Lucas Paquetá (26) for a long-term contract, although it’s thought that no negotiations between the two clubs have yet begun, with the transfer fee likely to be agreed in the summer.
The two clubs had previously agreed to a deal for the player last summer, with Manchester City willing to spend £85 million on the former Olympique Lyonnais midfielder. However, the deal collapsed after the FA began an investigation into alleged betting breaches.
The midfielder has excelled since moving from Lyon to West Ham and became an essential part of the team that won the Europa Conference League last season when the London side beat Fiorentina 2-1.
Despite the ongoing investigation, the midfielder has continued his high level of performances for the club and remains admired by Pep Guardiola, with a contract agreement still in place for the player.
