Ange Postecoglou has provided a major Tottenham injury update ahead of the Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest. The Lilywhites head into the clash after a 1-1 draw with West Ham and while that result was disappointing at the time, in hindsight it can be seen as a good point after both Aston Villa and Manchester United suffered defeat.
This weekend, all three teams pushing for Champions League qualification spots are playing at home with Villa facing Brentford on Saturday. Manchester United then welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon with Spurs closing out the weekend's action as they take on Forest with kick-off at 6:30pm.
Eight games remain for Postecoglou's side with the nightmare fixture run to start following the visit of Forest. The away clash against Chelsea, that was postponed in March, has been given a new date which will see Tottenham face the Blues, Arsenal and Liverpool all in the space of seven days.
To navigate that, Postecoglou will undoubtedly need the full compliment of his squad, however he has suffered a fresh Richarlison injury blow ahead of the next few weeks of fixtures. «The only one is Richy has had a bit of a niggle with his knee the last couple of weeks and we feel he needs to have this weekend off and give it a bit of a rest and he'll be fine for Newcastle next weekend.»
Brennan Johnson was captured limping off in the West Ham clash, however Postecoglou has confirmed he is fit and available. While the Spurs boss is hopeful Richarlison will return next weekend, he has all but ruled out three players from featuring again in this campaign.
