RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins is reporting that Leny Yoro (17) is set to remain at Lille OSC next season, despite interest from some of Europe’s elite.
France youth international centre-back Yoro enjoyed a breakthrough season with Les Dogues last season, featuring in 13 Ligue 1 games, most of which came in the second half of the campaign. The potential he showed during this time has caught the eye of some big clubs across Europe, notably Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite the aforementioned clubs enquiring about the Frenchman’s availability, Yoro will remain at Lille for the upcoming 2023/24 season, according to Hawkins. Lille are also hoping to extend his contract. His current deal, which was signed last summer, expires in the summer of 2025.
Given the departure of club captain José Fonte (39), who left on a free transfer to join Braga, Yoro may find first-team experience easier to come by next campaign.
