Lille OSC president Olivier Létang has told Le Parisien that the club will not sell Leny Yoro (18) this month, despite Paris Saint-Germain’s attempts to accelerate a transfer.
Yoro’s current contract with Lille expires at the end of the 2024/25 season, and according to RMC Sport, a renewal is not likely at this point. As a result, Yoro, one of the hottest defensive prospects in European football, is expected to be highly coveted in the summer, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Liverpool and PSG all considering a move for the France youth international.
However, PSG are looking to steal a march on the competition and conclude a deal this month. Les Parisiens have been considering how to formulate a deal to convince Les Dogues to sell, and according to RMC Sport, a loan deal with an obligatory purchase option had been considered.
Yoro is aware of PSG’s interest and according to Sports Zone, is open to a move to the Parc des Princes, however, it is unlikely to happen this month, with President Létang ruling out a sale. “Leny Yoro will not leave in January. So there are no negotiations and no discussions, contrary to what some are saying,” he said.
Yoro may not leave this month, but a departure for Les Dogues does look an inevitability. Much to the benefit of Lille, a bidding war could ensue at the end of the season.
