Beard finally has welcome headache
Too many times last term, Matt Beard was left hamstrung by a dearth of attacking options. Long-term injuries to Leanne Kiernan, Melissa Lawley and Shanice van de Sanden meant the onus was almost entirely on Katie Stengel to carry Liverpool's offensive load.
Her departure in September - to National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) side NJ/NY Gotham FC - left the Reds in dire need of some quality reinforcements. The arrival of experienced striker Natasha Flint from Leicester City early in the summer transfer window was swiftly followed by a move for highly-rated England youth international Mia Enderby.
The former Sheffield United youngster has already shown glimpses of her prodigious talent - see her Bergkamp-esque strike against Manchester City - while Flint has notched three goals in eight appearances this term. But it's club-record signing Sophie Roman Haug, who moved to Merseyside from AS Roma, who has faced the most scrutiny in the early months of the season.
