Liverpool will be without key players going into Sunday’s final against Chelsea.
Jurgen Klopp will have to plan for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final without a couple of his players. Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones will both miss the match against Chelsea at Wembley having been withdrawn in the first half of the 4-1 victory away to Brentford on Saturday.
Jota has been ruled out with a knee injury, while Jones has an ankle problem that will force him to miss upcoming games. Scans have confirmed the pair will now spend time on the sidelines and will not be available for the Wembley final.
Portuguese outlet Record report that in-form forward Jota faces up to two months out after Brentford captain Christian Norgaard landed on the Portugal international’s knee. The 27-year-old was stretchered off and was subsequently replaced by Mohamed Salah in the first half of Saturday’s Premier League win.
The Reds will also be without Trent Alexander-Arnold, while midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai and goalkeeper Alisson are doubts going into the clash with Mauricio Pochettino’s side due to hamstring issues. Liverpool currently lead the way in the Premier League and, despite their injury concerns, will be aiming for their first silverware of the season when they take on Chelsea this weekend.
