Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League table with victory over Sheffield United on Thursday night.
The Reds recorded a 3-1 victory at Anfield to leapfrog Arsenal at the top of the league standings. Goals from Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo secure the important three points for Liverpool to maintain their advantage in the title race.
Wednesday night saw both Manchester City and Arsenal both claim victories in their respective fixtures. Those wins put added pressure on Liverpool to get the three points against Sheffield United.
After facing the Blades, attention will now turn to the remaining games in Liverpool's run-in. That will start with an away trip to face Manchester United this weekend at Old Trafford, but there are several more equally important fixtures ahead of Jurgen Klopp's team.
