'Long overdue' Indian street food restaurant coming to Liverpool city centre

A new Indian street food restaurant is coming to Liverpool.

The Indian Tiffin Room is set to come to Duke Street in the city centre, with a promise of offering "vibrant and innovative" Indian street food dishes. The restaurant started from humble beginnings a decade ago as a tiny café in Cheadle, but went on to have branches in Manchester city centre and Leeds.

The menu mainly includes south Indian street snacks such as dosas and chaats, but you’ll also find a small selection of curries and dishes typically served at dhabas (roadside restaurants).

Founders Srini and Suresh said: “Our passion has always been to bring authentic Indian street food to the UK. For us, it’s not just about feeding people; it’s about spreading the joy of real Indian cuisine - the kind we grew up enjoying.”

They added: "India, being a large country with diverse cultures and different taste palettes, our vision was to bring all the different cuisines of India to our menu. We also took inspiration from our mothers’ home cooking.”

Srini and Suresh, described the Liverpool opening as "long overdue" and are eager to continue their mission beyond this new venture.

They said: “Over the next few years, we’re excited to introduce more people to the delights of the dosa and the beauty of Indo-Chinese dishes. We are hatching plans to open up more Indian Tiffin Room locations, making Indian street food accessible to even more of the North West.”
