Rio Ferdinand has called out Simon Jordan following the talkSPORT host’s criticism of his stance on Arsenal’s failed title chase.
The Manchester United legend aired his thoughts on a range of topics in football via his popular YouTube show Vibe with FIVE.
However, the outspoken Jordan took issue with Ferdinand’s summary of Arsenal’s failed title bid last season, leading to an exchange of blows between the pair… verbally, of course.
In May, Ferdinand — who works as a pundit for TNT Sport — refuted Martin Keown’s claim that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has built a team of winners, despite losing out in the title race to Manchester City.
Jordan jumped to the defence of talkSPORT colleague Keown and claimed Ferdinand’s beloved Manchester United had also bottled fixtures.
The 2008 Champions League winner hit back, saying on his YouTube channel: “Martin Keown said something that threw me.
«Then Simon Jordan jumped on it as well, and Simon, if you're listening, get on the show and we can debate this as long as you want.”
The ex-Crystal Palace owner subsequently fired back at Ferdinand saying on the White and Jordan show: „When I listened to Rio and his little acolytes around him, ganging up on Martin Keown — that's our job [his and Jim White's], we do that, we don't need anybody else's help with that.
“And so I actually felt that they were a bit smug, and the way that Rio presents this… you were bleeding clever and disrespectful and dismissive of Martin.”
More recently, Jordan shot down Ferdinand's claims that England stars James Ward-Prowse and Raheem Sterling should consider retiring from international duty after being overlooked for this month's Euro 2024 qualifiers.
But it appears that Ferdinand is not yet ready to let things simmer
