Manchester United are on the verge of signing Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham.
talkSPORT understands Spurs have given the defender permission to travel to Manchester to complete a medical ahead of his loan move.
United have turned their attentions to Reguilon after abandoning their pursuit of Chelsea's Marc Cucurella as they sought a left-back to cover the injured Luke Shaw.
Tyrell Malacia is also sidelined, prompting manager Erik ten Hag to seek reinforcements.
Reguilon joined Tottenham from Real Madrid for around £30m in 2020 and spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid.
A number of other left-backs, including Rico Henry and Nicolas Tagliafico were also linked.
However, Reguilon is now their top target and Ten Hag will hope to add Sofyan Amrabat to his Premier League squad ahead of the deadline on Friday.
United had mulled over a possible loan for the Fiorentina midfielder and the Serie A club will entertain the idea if there is an obligation to buy him from them next summer.
Other clubs had been interested in signing him, but he has been holding out for a move to Old Trafford and a reunion with Ten Ha, his manager from his Utrecht days.
