According to Foot Mercato, Olympique de Marseille are negotiating a deal to bring Hellas Verona defender Josh Doig (21) to the Vélodrome.
Marseille are in the market for a left-back this winter as they look to provide competition for Renan Lodi. Doig, a Scotland youth international, has been identified as a target, as revealed by La Provence.
Foot Mercato add that negotiations between Hellas Verona and Marseille are ongoing, with the former open to selling Doig this January. Whilst OM are yet to formally submit an offer to their Italian counterparts, there is optimism that a deal can be found.
Whilst Hellas Verona are more keen on a permanent sale, Marseille want to bring Doig on loan. It is unclear whether this arrangement would suit Hellas Verona, who are also contending with interest from Serie A rivals Torino. However, Doig himself is sold on the idea of moving to the Vélodrome this month.
