Matthaus: Messi and Neymar's move 'makes PSG stronger'
PSG have lost two superstar players Lionel Messi and Neymar this summer. However, Lothar Matthäus is convinced that the top French club is better without the duo.
A different wind is blowing in Paris St. Germain's offense from this season onwards. After Lionel Messi and Neymar said goodbye, Kylian Mbappe forms a French strike trio with new signings Ousmane Dembele and Randal Kolo Muani, supported by Marco Asensio, Goncalo Ramos and Hugo Ekitike.
Without Messi and Neymar, PSG no longer have the most impressive offensive, but according to Lothar Matthäus, it does have a better one.
"Messi gone, Neymar gone - so what? I say it will make PSG stronger that they are now playing without these superstars," says the World Footballer of 1990 in Sport Bild, referring to the team climate: "The team is getting better benefit from the fact that there are now fewer vanities and that it will be more difficult to calculate the offensive."
