Mauricio Pochettino drops major team news hint as new Chelsea star ready to start vs Luton Town
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Moises Caicedo is 'ready to start' for Chelsea against Luton Town. The Blues will welcome the newly-promoted outfit to Stamford Bridge on Friday night as both sides look to register their first win of the new Premier League season.
Chelsea head into the clash following a disheartening defeat to West Ham at the London Stadium, meanwhile Luton have had nearly two weeks to prepare since their loss to Brighton on the opening weekend of the campaign. With Kenilworth Road under construction, the Hatters' game against Burnley last weekend was postponed.
Ahead of the meeting in west London, Pochettino revealed that Caicedo is 'ready to start' while Romeo Lavia still needs a couple of weeks to build his fitness. The 51-year-old said: «Mo yes is ready to start. Lavia no.
»He needs a few weeks to be ready to be involved with the team. He is working to try and catch his teammates. For Romeo we need to wait a few weeks but Moises is ready."
Despite impressive performances against Liverpool and West Ham, Chelsea failed to win. However, Pochettino is confident that the Blues will quickly reap the rewards of their hard work on the training pitches at Cobham.
«We will win, we will succeed in the way the players are buying the philosophy – it is only a matter of time,» said the Argentine. «It is a process we can not force to go quick, it is all about the work and the confidence.
»If we expect today the best thing of Caicedo, Lavia, [Axel] Disasi, [Robert] Sanchez, all the players who arrive in the last moments with few days to adapt and compete. If we see the projection of these players, we expect the best from them, we should win every single game.
