football.london takes a look at Chelsea's plan for the remaining stages of the 2023 summer transfer window with the Blues expecting to sign at least two new players
Chelsea are expecting at least two new faces through the door before the summer transfer window closes, sources have told football.london.
The Blues have spent more than £300million thus far this summer, with last week accounting for around half of that with Moises Caicedo (£115million) and Romeo Lavia (£58million) coming in. Crucially, though, the club have also sold more than 10 players in the same timeframe which has seen more than £200million arrive their way and the hope is that there will be further money added to that between now and the closure of the window.
Chelsea are expected to sell Callum Hudson-Odoi very soon. Fulham are closing in on a deal to sign the 22-year-old winger, football.london understands, after he told Chelsea of his desire to leave the club on a permanent basis.
There has also been interest from the likes of Lazio, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, but the Cottagers look set to have won the race. Hudson-Odoi will be available for a cut-price because he has less than 12 months left on his contract.
Meanwhile, the Blues are also looking to offload Romelu Lukaku on a permanent deal before the window closes. However, the 30-year-old's price and salary demands could prove a big issue in doing so, meaning Chelsea may have to settle on a loan deal for the striker.
football.london understands New England Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic is someone the Blues are looking at and made a proposal last week worth around £12million. The Serbian shot-stopper is viewed as someone that can support and compete with Sanchez for the season.
