The report, citing sources close to the situation, explains that Russia's invasion of Mudryk’s homeland has been overlooked as a contributing mental factor to his performances. Teamtalk insists that Pochettino intends to stick with Mudryk, as shown by claims that Chelsea turned down loan interest from Bayern Munich.
It is said that the club would only consider selling Mudryk if they were able to recoup a large chunk of the fee paid to Shakhtar, which could potentially rise to £88.5million. While there is unlikely to be a bidder willing to pay such a high fee for the 23-year-old, the decision to agree to an eight-and-a-half-year contract could prove to be another stumbling block for Chelsea.
