Graham Potter famously described the Chelsea managerial job as the most difficult in football. Over four months into the role, his permanent successor, Mauricio Pochettino, surely must find it hard to disagree.
We are only 16 games into the Premier League season but already there are calls from a large number of the Blues fan base for the club to get rid of Pochettino. However, from recent indications, that will not be anytime soon.
football.london understands that Chelsea are set to continue in their backing of the 51-year-old and still have the confidence that he can turn things around and be successful with the club. Pochettino, though, will be desperate to turn his team's form around sooner rather than later after three straight defeats away from home against Newcastle United, Manchester United and Everton.
Here, some of the football.london writers have got together to discuss just what should happen in regard to Pochettino. Should he be sacked? Should Chelsea stick with him? Is he the real problem? Here are our thoughts.
I was excited when Pochettino took over at Chelsea in the summer. There was a new sense of optimism around the club, which was desperately needed after a season that seemed to really drag on. A poor, poor season. Not one Chelsea supporter enjoyed it.
And then a thoroughly entertaining and encouraging pre-season played out in front our eyes. Without getting too carried away, because it was literally pre-season, there were plenty of supporters going into the actual campaign with excitement.
