According to Foot Mercato, José Mourinho is considering his future as manager of Roma. The Portuguese manager’s contract at the Stadio Olimpico is set to expire in June 2024 and with no contract negotiations opened between the two clubs, a departure looks likely.
Roma have struggled in Serie A this season and, at the time of writing, sit 8th in the Italian top flight. With these struggles domestically, both Mourinho and the Rome club are considering their partnership together. The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager has also been influenced by the departure of Tiago Pinto at Roma, with whom he had a positive working relationship, according to Foot Mercato. The Roma boss has been linked with the vacant Brazil job after Carlo Ancelotti signed a contract extension with Real Madrid. In addition, he has also attracted interest from Saudi Arabia.
AS Roma are considering replacements for Mourinho when his contract expires, Foot Mercato report. Within Italy, Raffaele Palladino, Gian Piero Gasperini and Ivan Juric are all admired and have contracts expiring at the same time as the former Tottenham manager. Perhaps more ambitious targets, but former Marseille manager Igor Tudor and former Tottenham boss Antonio Conte are both appreciated.
