Micah Richards has explained why he was so impressed by Jayden Danns' performances for Liverpool in recent weeks.
Danns' has appeared as a substitute in each of Liverpool's last two matches after being handed opportunities by Jurgen Klopp. The Reds defeated Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final, before beating Southampton in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Klopp has been forced to hand more opportunities to the club's young stars, including Danns, due to the injuries to first-team players. As well as Danns, Jarell Quansah, Bobby Clark, Trey Nyoni, James McConnell and Lewis Koumas have all had valuable minutes in the first-team in recent weeks.
Danns replaced Koumas in the second half of the win over Southampton, who scored Liverpool's first goal. Danns then scored a brace in front of the Kop to help secure the 3-0 victory, in what were his first senior goals for the club.

The first goal from Danns was a first-time finish that saw him chip the ball over Saints goalkeeper Joe Lumley. This second was a quick reaction to save from a Conor Bradley strike, and now Richards has provided his take on Danns' recent performances.
Richards has explained how he has been impressed with the maturity shown by Danns in the win over Southampton, factoring in the emotions the youngster would have felt after helping the Reds win the Carabao Cup in extra time.
“The most impressive thing for me was, when you win something and still a youngster, to be able to put that aside and perform at that level," Richards said on the Rest is Football podcast alongside Gary Lineker
