Mikel Arteta told to 'mix and match' with Jurrien Timber replacement ahead of Everton clash

Former Arsenal forward Kevin Campbell believes Gunners manager Mikel Arteta should start to use Oleksandr Zinchenko in midfield more often.

The Ukrainian international scored against England in their 1-1 draw at the Stadion Miejski Wroclaw in Poland last week, the only game the Three Lions have failed to win in their Euro 2024 qualification campaign so far.

Many thought the 26-year-old might be set for a more limited role this season after the arrival of Dutch superstar Jurrien Timber in the summer transfer window but after the left-back went down after just 47 minutes in the side's opening match against Nottingham Forest, Zinchenko has since been called back to action.

He was initially sidelined due to a muscular injury but has since come back and filled in following Takehiro Tomiyasu's red card against Crystal Palace a few weeks ago. Zinchenko played a great 76 minutes against Manchester United in which he helped his side come out as 3-1 victors, keeping their unbeaten start to the season going.

And now he's starting to see his plaudits arrive, with ex-Gunner Campbell highlighting his versatility which could help Arteta fill in the gaps as Arsenal try and fight for the Premier League title.
