The clouds have parted over Stamford Bridge after what was just an eighth win of the calendar year on Wednesday night. The Blues got one back over Brighton, beating Roberto De Zerbi's side 1-0 at Stamford Bridge and easing some of the pressure on Mauricio Pochettino.
It's not all good news for the Argentine manager though. He has plenty to sort out ahead of travelling the short distance across west London to neighbours Fulham. With injuries not relenting and suspensions to take into account as well, it's a big week for the boss as he goes in search of just a second league win in charge.
Here are the morning's headlines on Friday, September 29.
Caicedo fuming
It was the perfect game for Moises Caicedo as he took to the field against his former team on Wednesday. The 21-year-old, who has battled fitness issues and a lack of match sharpness in the opening weeks of his Chelsea career, was booed with every kick by the visiting fans but shrugged it off to deliver a quiet masterclass.
Anchoring the midfield alongside Lesley Ugochukwu, Caicedo was key in stopping the Seagulls from making too much progress through the centre of the pitch and covered for his inexperienced and struggling teammate. However, when put under pressure by another ex-Seagull, Robert Sanchez, Caicedo flipped at referee Thomas Bramall.
Having been barged over on the edge of his own box, Caicedo lost possession in a dangerous area and saw Joao Pedro handed a clear one-on-one, luckily for him the shot went over. He didn't give in to the efforts of his captain though, storming over to the referee and shouting with anger.
