With Youssouf Fofana (25) expecting to leave AS Monaco in the summer, a move for Olympique de Marseille’s Pape Gueye (24) is in consideration, according to L’Équipe.
Fofana was the subject of considerable interest in the summer, notably from Premier League side Nottingham Forest. However, the France international opted to remain with the Principality club this season, but with Fofana’s contract expiring in the summer of 2025, the time may be right to cash in on the midfielder come the end of the season.

:A sale in January is not on the agenda, however, Monaco are anticipating his departure, according to L’Équipe. Gueye, who has rejected two contract offers from Marseille, is out of contract at the end of the season. The midfielder, who is currently on AFCON duty with Senegal, is also attracting interest from Burnley this month. OM are not against selling Gueye this month.
Whilst Monaco could be interested in making a move in the summer, a move in January will not be considered, club sources told L’Équipe. Les Monégasques midfield is already packed. Adi Hütter has Fofana, Denis Zakaria, Mohamed Camara, Eliot Matazo and Edan Diop to choose from. Matazo could depart Monaco, however, the Belgium youth international is currently injured, which decreases his chances of a move this month.
