Applications for the Albanese Government’s $200 million Play Our Way program are now open – supporting local governments and community, not-for-profit and sporting organisations to deliver projects that make sport more welcoming and equitable for women and girls.
Football Australia’s advocacy and the CommBank Matildas' success during the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™️ has contributed to the Australian Government committing $200 million to the Play Our Way grant program, which is one of Australia’s biggest comprehensive investments in women’s sports.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese: “The Matildas have given us a moment of national inspiration, this is about seizing that opportunity for the next generation, investing in community sporting facilities for women and girls around Australia ... We want women and girls everywhere in Australia to have the facilities and the support to choose a sport they love”.
This Grant aims to address the barriers women and girls face when participating in sport and physical activity by delivering quality facilities and sport participation experiences where the need is greatest, and in a manner that is safe, equitable, accessible, inclusive, sustainable and enduring.
