Dutch club Feyenoord coach Arne Slot has confirmed that his club is in talks with Liverpool for his potential transfer. This comes after Liverpool identified Slot to replaced Jurgen Klopp who'll be leaving the club after the ongoing season. Klopp was at the helm at Liverpool for almost nine years.
Slot spoke about the negotiations ahead of Feyenoord's game on Thursday (Apr 25) and said: «The only thing I can say about it is that the clubs are in negotiations. And then you sit in the waiting room and wait for what will come out.»
«It seems clear to me that I would like to go to Liverpool. Now I'm waiting to see whether the clubs reach an agreement. I'm very confident in that,» he added.

ESPN has reported that Feyenoord expect to be paid about $110 million (£9 million) for the transfer but Slot said that he'd be happy if two teams can come to an amicable solution.
«The clubs have to do their job,» he said. «And then I'm waiting and as the 'main character.' I have to respect that. It will undoubtedly become clear in the coming days.»
After Feyenoord's 3-1 victory, he further confirmed that an offer from Liverpool had already been made and said: «I have the impression that a good offer has already been made and that Feyenoord can make, as it seems, the best-paid transfer for a coach in The Netherlands.»
Notably, Slot signed with Feyenoord on a three-year deal after rejecting offers from Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League (EPL). Earlier, Liverpool's Virgil Van Dijk also threw his weight behind the Netherlands international becoming the next Liverpool manager.
